Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Data Entry & Silicon Validation Engineer to support our next‑generation Wi‑Fi and connectivity solutions. This role blends meticulous data entry, test development, and silicon debugging to ensure that our silicon blocks meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and power efficiency. The position is flexible, offering both full‑time and part‑time arrangements, and is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States while collaborating with cross‑functional teams at arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hardware designers, firmware engineers, and system architects to understand functional blocks and their intended use‑cases.
  • Write, debug, and maintain test scripts for integrated Wi‑Fi chipsets, complex digital interfaces, and power‑management subsystems.
  • Execute functional verification of silicon components, pushing blocks to their limits and identifying performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop and run regression suites in pre‑silicon environments, ensuring early detection of design flaws.
  • Utilize modern lab equipment—including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers—to capture and analyze signal integrity and timing data.
  • Interpret schematics, layout diagrams, and hardware specifications to trace root causes of silicon anomalies.
  • Document test results, create detailed bug reports, and work closely with layout engineers to resolve identified issues.
  • Support product improvement cycles both on‑site and remotely, providing timely feedback to engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior team members on best practices for data entry, test development, and silicon validation.
  • Continuously improve verification methodologies, contributing to the evolution of arenaflex’s testing framework.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA architecture and silicon micro‑structure.
  • Experience writing embedded software test scripts and automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in hardware/software interaction, with a focus on timing analysis and state‑machine debugging.
  • Solid grasp of digital protocol specifications (e.g., MAC, PHY, PCIe, USB) and their implementation details.
  • Hands‑on experience with modern lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, layout files, and hardware description language (HDL) code.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to debugging complex silicon issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for clear documentation and cross‑team collaboration.
  • Self‑driven work ethic with the ability to thrive in a remote, distributed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, or other wireless connectivity silicon validation.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or Perl for test automation.
  • Knowledge of power‑management ICs and low‑power design techniques.
  • Exposure to version control systems (Git) and continuous integration pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Previous remote work experience with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality results.

Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex silicon behavior and isolate root causes.
  • Attention to Detail: Precise data entry and meticulous documentation to ensure traceability.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, comfortable partnering with designers, firmware engineers, and product managers.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to shift priorities in a fast‑moving technology landscape.
  • Time Management: Efficiently balance multiple test campaigns and meet tight verification deadlines.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging silicon verification tools and methodologies.
