Cloud Engineer SME

Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Engineer SME to maintain and enhance an existing social media data exploitation platform. The candidate will work within an existing team environment. Work will include developing enhancements to an existing service-based web application. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with multiple entities, including mission partners, to ensure tools meet defined requirements.
  • Applying DevOps principles and philosophies to continuously deliver high value enhancements to software in a service-based architecture.
  • Ensuring all application security vulnerabilities are addressed as appropriate by severity to maintain security accreditation. 
  • Supporting data engineering efforts to analyze large data sets to derive data relationships.
  • Maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting various codebases deployed in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting hardware and networks.
  • Managing and mitigating IT security vulnerabilities and apply security controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in system performance monitoring and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
  • Expert in the full lifecycle management of operating systems, application software, and system management tools, including installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance.
  • Proven ability to maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and manage software, hardware, and network infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience working within cloud computing environments, particularly with Linux and Unix-based operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with platform and application automated deployment strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including S3, EBS, and EC2, for cloud-based solutions.
  • US Citizen with an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient in managing and mitigating IT security vulnerabilities through POAMs and applying FISMA security controls.
  • Experienced in translating technical mission requirements into clear communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams across organizational boundaries.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines within a multi-tenant environment.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud deployment, DevOps, containerization, web services, API management, and computing optimization.
  • Skilled in utilizing requirements tracking programs such as JIRA or Confluence to manage project workflows.
  • Deep understanding of cloud database, storage, virtualization, and network configurations.
  • Extensive experience integrating automated software quality checks, security scanning, and infrastructure-as-code using modern DevSecOps tools and practices.

This position is located in Chantilly, VA.

The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000.00 - $210,000.00, commensurate on Clearance, technical skillset and overall experience.
