Dental Assistant - Smile Bus Team

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our Smile Bus team, providing exceptional patient care and support to our dentists in a fast-paced clinical setting. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care to our patients, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Job Summary

As a Dental Assistant, you will assist our dentists with patient care and follow-up, providing direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for treatment, assisting dentists during procedures, taking x-rays, and maintaining a sterile and organized work environment. You will also be responsible for ensuring accurate patient records, managing patient flow, and completing billing tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and escort them to the work area, ensuring their comfort and preparation for treatment
  • Review health histories, make chart entries, and ensure forms are signed and completed
  • Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a sterile and neat working environment
  • Prepare the work area for patient treatment, setting out instruments and materials
  • Assist dentists during procedures, handing them instruments and keeping patients' mouths dry
  • Instruct patients in proper dental hygiene and dietary instructions
  • Expose, process, and mount radiographs, ensuring accurate and timely completion
  • Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all activities are charted and up-to-date
  • Manage patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient treatment
  • Complete billing tasks, ensuring accurate and timely completion

Registered Dental Assistant Responsibilities

  • Coronal polishing
  • Sealant application
  • Fluoride application
  • Topical anesthetics application

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dental health education subjects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant
  • Expanded Function Licenses
  • N2O Certification
