Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Infant Mental Health (IMH) Evaluator to join our team at Zero to Thrive, a leading multi-disciplinary center housed within the Department of Psychiatry at Michigan Medicine. As an IMH Evaluator, you will play a vital role in evaluating the outcomes of our Infant Mental Health Home Visiting (IMH-HV) services, which aim to support families at risk for relationship problems, child abuse and/or neglect, and behavioral health concerns.

About the Role:

In this term-limited position, you will be responsible for providing support in locating participants, completing follow-up assessments, and coordinating with other data sources. Your expertise will be essential in helping us understand the long-term impact of IMH-HV services and informing our efforts to improve the well-being of families from pregnancy through early childhood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data collection with parents and children, including administering self-report questionnaires, brief developmental measures, and video-recorded interactions
  • Conduct clinical interviews with participants and perform crisis management and risk assessments when necessary
  • Manage and problem-solve virtual platforms for collecting and entering data
  • Lead the creation and management of the data collection system
  • Engage previous participants by locating, recruiting, and re-consenting subjects
  • Schedule assessments and track participation
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to obtain data and manage human subject incentives
  • Complete data entry and lead data management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of clinical research and/or interpersonal/clinical experience
  • Background, understanding, and/or strong interest in attachment, trauma, infant mental health, early childhood, and/or parent/child relationships
  • Experience collecting qualitative and quantitative data
  • Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills
  • Excellent detail-oriented, time management, and organization skills
  • Experience using virtual phone and/or video conferencing systems
  • Experience working with families that have experienced adversity
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and comfort with traveling (potentially long distances)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • Experience in research and/or data collection, including administering clinical interviews and self-report questionnaires
  • Experience managing data entry and utilizing electronic data entry systems
  • Experience conducting home visits in diverse neighborhood environments
  • Crisis management experience
