National Account Manager

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-24

Job Summary: The Retail and National Account Manager will lead and expand relationships with select national retailers and large-scale building supply distributors, ensuring these partnerships align with our broader mission: supporting the small- and mid-sized fence installers who remain the backbone of our business. This role focuses on building strategic partnerships that complement—not replace—our commitment to the professional installer channel. This position calls for a relationship-driven and highly strategic sales professional who can manage complex accounts while keeping our pro customer base front and center. The ideal candidate will thrive on collaboration, possess strong retail and distribution knowledge, and be passionate about delivering value to all our customers. Roles And Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Growth:
  • Serve as the main contact for national and wholesale accounts (e.g., Lowe’s, Home Depot), ensuring these partnerships support our dealer and pro customer network.
  • Develop account-specific business plans that prioritize responsible growth, brand alignment, and customer exclusivity where needed.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and maintain open communication with buyers, category managers, and logistics teams.
  • Research, understand and develop the right mix of products in partnership with key accounts and product management to ensure we can service the market and drive significant growth.
  • Sales & Program Execution:
  • Execute seasonal programs, promotions, and product rollouts that enhance value across all channels—without diluting offerings unique to our core customer base.
  • Support product placement, merchandising, and in-store strategies while maintaining Eastern’s commitment to fencing professionals.
  • Negotiate pricing and program terms aligned with market needs and company goals.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
  • Collaborate across internal teams (sales, operations, customer service, product management, logistics, marketing) to ensure smooth delivery and consistent customer experience.
  • Work with product and marketing teams to rationalize and tailor programs and assets that serve both large retail accounts and small professional customers.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
  • Monitor sell-in/sell-through performance, identify trends, and use data to drive better decision-making across accounts.
  • Understand retailer scorecards, compliance needs, and forecasting expectations.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Explore new opportunities within existing accounts and evaluate potential partners that align with our pro-dealer-first approach.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive activity, and shifts in both retail and professional installation markets.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5–7+ years of experience in national account management, retail channel sales, or B2B/B2R sales—preferably within building materials, fencing, or related construction supply industries.
  • Direct experience managing accounts such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, or other large-scale retailers/distributors.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills with high-level decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with retailer portals, scorecards, promotional calendars, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Excel, CRM platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally (30–40%).
