Staff Designer, Design Systems - Discord About the Role: Discord, a platform used by over 200 million people monthly, is seeking a Staff Designer to lead our Design Systems team. You'll define design quality, create and maintain our design system, and shape the future of Discord's user experience across desktop and mobile platforms. Responsibilities: Vision & Strategy: ? Define the north star for the design system ? Partner with Design Systems Design Manager to drive long-term vision ? Lead cross-functional efforts and foster alignment ? Stay informed on design trends and emerging technologies Design System Leadership: ? Design reusable components, patterns, and tools ? Write comprehensive documentation ? Continuously improve and evolve the design system Migration & Integration: ? Lead migration of existing products to the design system ? Update or replace legacy components Support & Advocacy: ? Champion the design system through education and communication ? Provide support and manage feedback channels ? Mentor senior designers and foster systems thinking Qualifications: ? 7+ years designing consumer-facing products ? 3+ years leading design systems teams ? Track record of driving cross-functional initiatives ? Proficiency in developing scalable design and code libraries ? Experience defining visual style of products ? Passion for creating accessible, user-centric design systems ? Exceptional storytelling and communication skills ? Strong design craft and commitment to quality ? Demonstrated leadership on large-scale, high-impact projects Bonus Skills: ? Experience with version control and Github ? Technical writing experience ? Experience creating Figma Tooling ? Gaming enthusiasm Compensation: ? US base salary range: $205,000 to $225,000 ? Equity and benefits included Location: ?
