What you’ll be doing…

Technical Leadership

  • Mentor and inspire other engineers to achieve their best work each and every day
  • Foster a culture of proactive problem-solving and knowledge sharing
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering goals and product strategy with business objectives

Product Development

  • Ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable code through best practice implementation
  • Drive architecture and design to ensure alignment with business needs and long-term technical vision
  • Contribute to the end-to-end development lifecycle, from concept and design to validation, deployment, and maintenance

Innovation and Improvement

  • Keep a pulse on industry trends and emerging tech to continuously enhance the product
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance team productivity and product quality

What we’re looking for…

ScienceLogic is seeking a Principal Engineer to help take our network automation product line to the next level. The ideal candidate will have an experience-rich background in full-stack engineering and DevOps principles, will care as much about what is built as how it's built, and knows that true innovation is fostered in a collaborative team environment of empowered engineers. As a Principal Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers, product management, and support to deliver biweekly product releases to help our customers centrally automate the backup, compliance, and change management processes of their IT network and security estate.  

Qualities you possess…

  • 7+ years experience in software engineering, with at least 1 year in a senior engineer and/or lead role
  • 3+ years experience with REST APIs
  • 3+ years DevOps (CI/CD) experience and/or SRE
  • 2+ years RDBMS design and implementation experience

Preferred tech stack: 

  • Primary: Golang
  • Secondary: Python, Lua
  • Front-end: React, Typescript
  • Cloud: AWS, Azure
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, SSH, switching, routing, firewalls, etc)
