They are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to reputed company design efforts and mentor junior engineers, focusing on mission-critical HVAC and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for mechanical design on data center projects
  • reputed company the design and engineering of HVAC, chilled water, and other mission-critical cooling systems
  • reputed company, review, and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders including clients, architects, and contractors
  • reputed company mechanical design from concept through construction, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards
  • Conduct system analyses, equipment selections, and energy efficiency evaluations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality outcomes
  • Review and seal design documents as required under state licensure
  • Support business development efforts through proposal writing, client presentations, and technical input

Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, with at least 5 years focused on data centers or mission-critical facilities
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required and in good standing
  • Demonstrated experience acting as Engineer of Record (EOR) for mechanical systems
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
  • In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy modeling principles
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software (e.g., reputed company HAP, Trace 700)
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center projects
  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency practices
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and field inspections
