The Permitting Engineer I provides engineering support for the development of permitting packages for material handling systems, collaborating with various teams to deliver accurate and complete documentation while gaining foundational technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of permitting drawing packages for material handling and reputed company systems
  • Produce and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings using established engineering standards and company templates
  • reputed company basic engineering calculations under the guidance of reputed company engineers
  • Review engineering drawings and documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to submittal
  • Maintain organized engineering documentation and project records
  • Learn and apply applicable building codes, engineering standards, and jurisdictional permitting requirements
  • Assist in preparing permit application documentation and supporting calculations
  • Support responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and permitting review comments
  • Verify that assigned work aligns with company standards and permitting requirements
  • Coordinate assigned work with engineering, project management, drafting, and controls engineering teams
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and project meetings
  • Communicate project status and technical issues to supervisors and project team members
  • Support project schedules by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time
  • Follow established engineering processes, standard work, and drafting standards

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a reputed company engineering discipline
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software is preferred
  • Familiarity with material handling systems or reputed company equipment is beneficial but not required
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as reputed company Inventor or SolidWorks is preferred
  • Internship or co-op experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or material handling is preferred
