Position Overview – Remote Automotive Technician (Fleet Preservation) arenaflex is seeking a dedicated, detail‑oriented Remote Automotive Technician to join our Fleet Preservation Team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of delivery vehicles—including diesel, gasoline, hybrid, electric, and alternative‑fuel trucks—ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This is a full‑time, remote‑enabled position that offers a competitive salary of $72,000 USD per year, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on a variety of commercial trucks, trailers, and specialty vehicles.
  • Powertrain Expertise: Service diesel, gasoline, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), propane, hybrid, and electric powertrains, applying the latest industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Brake Systems: Perform inspections, adjustments, and overhauls on hydraulic and air brake systems to maintain optimal stopping performance.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Utilize advanced scan tools, diagnostic software, and personal computer interfaces to identify fault codes and implement corrective actions.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets DOT regulations, adheres to arenaflex’s internal safety protocols, and maintains Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certification.
  • Physical Labor: Execute physically demanding tasks—including bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and lifting components—while adhering to ergonomic best practices.
  • Tool Management: Maintain a complete set of personal hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment; report any deficiencies promptly.
  • Shift Flexibility: Work rotating 2‑day or 3‑day shifts (e.g., Monday‑Friday, Sunday‑Thursday, or Tuesday‑Saturday) based on operational demand, with the ability to cover overtime or additional hours when required.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with remote supervisors, parts specialists, and fellow technicians through clear written and verbal communication to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Environmental Awareness: Operate safely in varied temperature, humidity, and weather conditions; handle cleaning agents, petroleum products, and other hazardous substances in compliance with safety data sheets.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited automotive technology program is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years documented experience as an automotive mechanic, preferably with commercial or fleet vehicles.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computer‑based troubleshooting.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Ability to work full‑time shifts of 8–10 hours, 4–5 days per week, with flexibility for rotating schedules.
  • Demonstrated reliability in meeting daily production targets and adhering to scheduled work hours.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Certification in Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) or willingness to obtain it within the first 90 days.
  • Experience servicing alternative‑fuel vehicles (CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, electric).
  • Knowledge of emissions testing, fuel‑efficiency optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
