Job Description Job Title: Music Coordinator (Temporary) Location: New York, NY Work Arrangement: Hybrid (currently 3 days in-office; beginning January 5, 2026, 4 days in-office) Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Music Coordinator to provide comprehensive music services for television production. This temporary role involves overseeing music cue sheets, processing license requests, coordinating with producers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in music clearance for TV, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Oversee music cue sheets: research, input data, verify accuracy, and maintain information for internal and external requests. Follow up with relevant parties regarding cue sheets and promo reports for in-show, promo, and commercial use. Conduct trainings on cue sheets, internal systems, and processes. Communicate with PROs regarding submissions or missing cue sheets. Participate in cue sheet system reviews, analysis, and taskforce projects. Collaborate with Music Library, IT teams, and other departments to support clients. Work with show producers to ensure music usage adheres to production practices and guidelines. Research music details pertinent to clearance and tracking, including publishers, record labels, PROs, and type of usage. Process music license requests: negotiate terms, fees, licenses, and pick-ups. Handle payment processes by setting up vendors and coordinating with Accounts Payable. Provide guidance on music clearance, risk analysis, and estimates. Maintain relationships with publishers, labels, music libraries, and related vendors. Assist with new departmental functions and other production projects as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. 1–2 years of experience in music clearance for television. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Willingness to submit to a background investigation. Authorization to work in the United States and willingness to work in New York, NY. Must be 18 years or older. Flexibility to work varied hours due to production schedules. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to perform as a team player. Strong interpersonal skills and client-support orientation. Experience with music cue sheets, music clearance, and knowledge of production music libraries. Excellent negotiation skills and familiarity with relationships in the music industry (record labels, publishing companies). Knowledge of current market rates for artists and publishing catalogs. Passion for music and diversified knowledge of musical genres. Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Experience in high-paced, pressure-filled environments with minimal supervision.
