Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Data Entry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for executing strategies that support the growth of ocean volumes, enhancing the development of the ocean product, and working closely with the Managing Director of Ocean to achieve business objectives. This role offers a unique chance to work with a global industry leader, develop your skills in data analysis, carrier development, and sales support, and contribute to the success of our ocean product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to the preferred network.
  • Assist in implementing pricing programs, review volume targets, and develop an ocean strategy to enhance sales effectiveness and achieve account development and yield enhancement expectations.
  • Communicate internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and deliverables, working closely with the MD, Ocean, the global trade lane team, sales, and operations.
  • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded and assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity.
  • Support sales and operations as an ocean subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to minimize risk exposure and enhance service quality.
  • Manage the annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets, working closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing.
  • Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus, and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Business-oriented with remarkable business acumen, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Advanced degree in a related field, such as logistics, supply chain management, or business administration.
  • Professional certifications, such as CSCP or CLTD, demonstrating expertise in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI, and the ability to interpret complex data sets and develop insights to inform business decisions.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and systems, such as transportation management systems (TMS) or warehouse management systems (WMS).
