This is an opportunity for an experienced fundraising leader to help shape and strengthen this extraordinarily innovative and exceptional organization as it embarks on the next phase in its evolution, which includes increasingly centering racial justice and equity more broadly in the organization's mission and operations. In addition to our Headquarters GRID operates 8 regional offices and an International Program. The Director of Regional Philanthropy will be responsible for coaching and leading a team of regionally focused fundraisers to support the annual budget of our regional offices, while working with the Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer and regional executive directors to implement and grow corporate, foundation and government funding. Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer along with working with other members of the Philanthropy Leadership Team, the Director of Regional Philanthropy will help to create and manage a regionally focused development plan, designed to achieve GRID's goals and institutionalize best practices and create a "culture of philanthropy" across the entire organization. The Director of Regional Philanthropy will help lead the expansion of GRID's fundraising efforts. The Director of Regional Philanthropy serves on the Philanthropy Leadership Team, supervising a growing staff of 9 Major Gift Officers along with the Regional Philanthropy Manager within a department of 38 at headquarters. Core Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Vice President of Development and regional affiliate Executive Directors to lead a team of regionally focused fundraisers to secure 5 to 6 figure corporate and foundation grants
  • This senior leadership position prioritizes management, coaching, and developing fundraising strategies
  • Provide key strategic direction, thought leadership, and drive collaboration with regional affiliate leadership and regional departmental leadership on fundraising strategy and identifying opportunities to grow program and organizational capacity through grants, sponsorships, and contracts
  • Supervise and coach 3 to 8 full-time development staff focusing on regional funding opportunities across GRID's affiliate offices
  • Coordinate regular calls to convene regional development staff with HQ philanthropy team.
  • Serve as a key senior contributor of GRID Alternatives' HQ leadership team, including developing long-term fund development strategies and related thought leadership efforts around the importance of equitable clean energy and sustainability programs
  • Promote a Culture of Philanthropy across the organization

  • Passionate advocate for renewable energy, affordable housing, workforce development, and/or environmental justice work
  • Track record of effective team management and coaching
  • 5 or more years of professional fundraising experience, including a demonstrated track record of managing 5 to 6 figure grants
  • Excellent collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively and efficiently with a variety
