Role Description Karthik Consulting is seeking a talented and driven Backend Engineer to join a core engineering team supporting scalable, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs. III.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend services that power platform RESTful APIs.
• Develop and deploy production-grade microservices leveraging advanced features of modern Java, including Java 21 and Java 25.
• Define, implement, and document clean, consistent, and secure API contracts.
• Establish secure, reliable, and optimized integrations between internal core components and external third-party systems.
• Drive ongoing improvements in service performance, resiliency, and observability across metrics, logs, and traces.
• Contribute to shared engineering standards, reusable components, and robust automation pipelines across the microservices ecosystem.

Qualifications

Education

• Minimum Requirement: Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an applicable technical field preferred.
• Alternative Pathway: In lieu of a relevant college degree, a minimum of 2 additional years of relevant professional work experience is required, for 4 years total.
• Must be US Based, and eligible for federal work.

Required Skills
