Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance.
  • Ensure high levels of database availability, reliability, and security, implementing robust backup and recovery strategies.
  • Perform routine database performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database schema designs, and application performance.
  • Implement and maintain database security (encryption, access control, etc.) and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues promptly and effectively, providing root cause analysis and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical database support as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to improve efficiency and system capabilities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle database administration.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, relational database theory, and data modeling.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of database security best practices and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Experience with scripting lang
