Compensation
Range: $75-$85 per hour W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401K Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Job Description: The client is seeking a Senior Application Modernization Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise Azure cloud migration initiative focused on modernizing and migrating critical business applications from legacy environments into Azure. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Assess application portfolios for Azure migration readiness
- Evaluate application dependencies, infrastructure requirements, and migration risks
- Develop modernization strategies including rehosting, re-platforming, and refactoring recommendations
- Execute and support large-scale Azure application migration efforts
- Partner with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders
- Document migration plans, technical requirements, and modernization roadmaps
- Support enterprise cloud transformation and datacenter exit initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and best practices throughout migration programs
- Troubleshoot migration issues and support post-migration optimization
Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years of application modernization, cloud engineering, or migration experience
- Proven experience participating in large-scale Azure migration programs involving dozens or hundreds of applications
- Strong Azure migration planning and execution experience
- Extensive .NET application experience
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications
- Background working within large enterprise modernization or cloud transformation initiatives
- Experience collaborating across multiple business units and stakeholders
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting datacenter exit initiatives
- Azure certifications
- Experience with cloud-native application architectures
- Prior experience leading modernization assessments and migration workshops
Additional Requirements for Senior Linux Application Modernization Engineer Minimum Requirements:
- Strong Linux administration and support experience
- Java application migration and modernization experience
- Experience supporting Linux-hosted enterprise applications
- Linux ecosystem expertise including middleware, scripting, and supporting services
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) experience
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
- DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience
- Infrastructure as Code experience
