[Remote] Marine Service Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PALFINGER AG is a company that provides lifting and handling solutions for the maritime industry. They are seeking a Marine Service Engineer who will work directly with PALFINGER cranes, lifeboats, and life-saving equipment, performing inspections, commissioning, repairs, and global service missions.
Responsibilities
- Perform service, testing, commissioning, and annual/5-year inspections on lifeboats, davits, winches, and Palfinger cranes worldwide
- Diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems using OEM parts and specifications
- Conduct Safe Job Analyses and complete accurate service documentation, reports, and required paperwork
- Communicate clearly with the Service Coordinator, Service Manager, and customers regarding job progress and findings
- Test and verify equipment performance after service or repair to ensure safety, compliance, and operational integrity
Skills
- Technical background with hands-on experience in hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Prior experience in service engineering, maintenance, or field service roles
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams
- Physically fit, safety-focused, and willing to travel globally as required, including working at heights and lifting heavy equipment
- Marine or offshore industry experience preferred, with exposure to cranes or life-saving equipment
