Please see Benefits Summary section below the job description information. Work schedule consists of a varied schedule with a typical average of 20 hours per week. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is critical to meet organizational needs. Work is primarily on-site at the Zoo, with some flexibility for remote editing or post-production work. This Multimedia Production Assistant Seasonal contributes to the success of Brookfield Zoo Chicago ("BZC") by supporting the filming, editing, and delivery of multimedia content. The Multimedia Production Assistant will leverage experience in all aspects of creative video production to provide essential support to the Director of Public Relations and Multimedia Content Producer with a variety of mission-driven content. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions of the position. Support the Multimedia Content Producer in amplifying BZC's mission by developing, filming, filing, and editing short- and long-form content. This includes, but is not limited to, branded content, lifestyle media, b-roll packages, documentary-inspired shorts, commercial spots, program recaps, educational resources, social media series, and more. Collaborate with Director of Public Relations, Multimedia Content Producer, Photographer, and additional team members on all phases of multimedia production, including pre-production planning, equipment preparations, on-location shoots, post-production, and project wrap ups. Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of camera, audio, lighting, and grip equipment as needed based on specific production needs for event coverage, seasonal programming, special projects, and more. Film and deliver high-quality b-roll, interviews, environmental, and wildlife footage that meets brand and accessibility standards under tight deadlines. Such requests require strong interpersonal skills while collaborating with cross-functional partners, such as marketing, development, community engagement, animal health and welfare, and more. Perform basic color correction, audio cleanup, motion graphics or animation, and export formatting for digital platforms while editing video content in Adobe Premiere Pro in accordance with established workflows, brand standards, and organizational best practices. Support the management of a large volume of media files through media ingest, asset organization, naming conventions, and archiving. This includes video assets as well as photos on the Zoo's digital asset management platform. Other related duties as assigned. Denotes Essential Job Function(s) POSITION REQUIREMENTS Associate's degree or four years equivalent experience in Digital Communications, Film, Journalism, New Media, Photojournalism, Production, or related field. High school diploma or educational equivalent (e.g., GED.) required. Strong familiarity with operating Sony FX6, action cameras like GoPros, Insta360 camera, and various production equipment like light kits, various microphones, teleprompters, and more. Proficiency in camera operation, frame monitoring, lighting fundamentals, audio capture, motion graphics, and animation as well as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and MediaValet. Familiarity with codecs, color workflows, and delivery specifications through experience producing content for digital platforms. Strong ability to prioritize workload, multi-task effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work efficiently and responsibly both independently and as part of a small production team. Sound judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality with privileged information. Adhere to all animal safety, guest privacy, and operational protocols while filming on Zoo grounds. Comfortable working outdoors in a dynamic environment, including walking the campus and filming in varied weather conditions. Passion for wildlife conservation, environmental education, and promoting positive change through effective communication and multimedia storytelling. Cultural competency; experience and/or ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience. English fluency at a professional working proficiency level required. Primarily on-site at the Zoo, with some flexibility for remote editing or post-production work. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays aligned with events, programming, and seasonal needs Valid driver's license required at time of hire. Illinois residents must possess a valid Illinois driver's license or obtain one within 90 days of hire. Valid out-of-state driver's license is required for out-of-state residents.
