[Remote] Internal Medicine Physician Advisor to Obesity Medicine Startup

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Healthcare Shares is an early-stage healthcare venture capital firm building a next-generation virtual obesity medicine clinic. They are seeking an innovative and experienced Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician leader to join their Board of Advisors, focusing on enhancing patient care through a specialty virtual clinic that integrates with primary care.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the design of a seamless referral, onboarding, and co-management process that is intuitive and efficient for primary care physicians and their staff
• Provide practical, real-world insight into the challenges and opportunities of implementing a specialized virtual care model within the existing primary care landscape
• Guide the development of our communication tools, progress reports, and potential EMR integration strategies to ensure clear and effective collaboration with our PCP partners
• Help shape our partnership model and value proposition for primary care groups, ACOs, and direct primary care (DPC) practices
• Participate in quarterly virtual advisory board meetings, ensuring the primary care perspective is central to our strategic decisions

Skills

• MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Leadership experience within a primary care setting, such as a medical director, practice owner, or leader within an ACO or large physician group
• Experience with and a passion for care delivery innovation, digital health tools, and team-based care models
• A deep understanding of PCP workflows, reimbursement challenges, and the importance of care coordination
• A collaborative and pragmatic leader who can translate high-level strategy into practical, physician-friendly solutions
