[Remote] Director, Injection Sales (Western US)

Milacron is a global leader in the manufacture, distribution, and service of highly engineered systems in the plastic technology industry. They are seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead customer relationship strategies and drive revenue growth across critical injection molding clients in the Western US, managing a regional sales team and aftermarket specialists to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a regional team including machinery sales representatives and aftermarket sales/service team members
- Establish clear performance goals, sales strategies, and professional development plans
- Foster collaboration between machinery and aftermarket teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions
- Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with company objectives for both capital equipment and aftermarket business lines
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
- Oversee key account management and ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention
- Collaborate with marketing and product management to align regional initiatives with national campaigns and product launches
- Drive new machinery sales by prospecting, qualifying, and securing new customers within the plastics processing industry
- Promote aftermarket offerings including spare parts, service contracts, machine retrofits, and training programs
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences to enhance visibility and brand reputation
- Manage regional sales budgets, forecasts, and expense control
- Track and report key performance metrics, including bookings, margins, and market share growth
- Ensure profitable sales growth and adherence to pricing and discounting guidelines
- Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, molders, processors, and key decision-makers across the territory
- Act as the regional voice of the customer to internal teams to drive product improvements and service enhancements
- Ensure seamless customer experience from initial sale through post-installation support
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in capital equipment sales within the plastics industry or industrial manufacturing sector
- Proven leadership experience managing sales teams and achieving growth targets
- Strong technical understanding of plastics processing machinery (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region (50%)
- Demonstrated ability to grow both machinery and aftermarket sales revenue
- Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to customer engagement
