What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative with arenaflex's healthcare partner, you will serve as the first point of contact for members seeking assistance with their pharmacy benefit plans. Every call is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Handling Inbound Member Calls: Professionally and courteously answer a high volume of inbound calls from members who have questions about their prescription insurance, pharmacy benefits, and medication coverage.
  • Pharmacy Benefit Plan Support: Assist members in understanding the details of their pharmacy benefit plans, including coverage tiers, copay structures, formulary listings, and prior authorization requirements.
  • Resolving Member Inquiries: Listen actively to member concerns and provide accurate, timely, and empathetic solutions that simplify their healthcare experience.
  • Navigating Multiple Systems: Efficiently use Windows-based computer applications, internal databases, and CRM platforms to research member accounts, verify benefits, and document interactions.
  • Adapting to Changing Needs: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as call types, business priorities, and client requirements evolve. Embrace continuous learning and remain agile in a dynamic environment.
  • Documenting Interactions: Accurately record all member interactions, inquiries, and resolutions in the system to ensure compliance and continuity of service.
  • Escalating Complex Issues: Identify when a member's situation requires escalation to a specialist, supervisor, or clinical team, and ensure a smooth handoff with thorough notes.
  • Maintaining Compliance: Follow all HIPAA regulations, company policies, and industry guidelines to safeguard member privacy and ensure high ethical standards.

What You Bring: Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you will need a foundation of customer service experience, technical comfort, and a genuine passion for helping others. The required qualifications include:

  • Customer Service Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience interacting with customers in a call center, customer service, or similar high-volume support environment.
  • Educational Background: A High School Diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) is required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid computer skills with the ability to navigate Windows-based applications, learn new software quickly, and type efficiently while speaking with members.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a courteous and professional telephone manner that puts members at ease.
  • Interpersonal Strengths: A natural ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and confidence—especially when dealing with members who may be frustrated, confused, or stressed about their healthcare needs.
  • Reliable Home Office Setup: A quiet, dedicated workspace, reliable high-speed internet connection, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Residency: Must reside in or near the Orlando, Florida area and be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Bilingual Skills: Fluency in Spanish or another second language is a significant plus, given the diverse member population.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can shift throughout the day.
  • Pharmacy Technician Background: Experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar medication-focused role is a strong differentiator.
