Role Overview

The Lead Data Management Analyst is a senior, hands‑on position within the Business Banking Operations (CBO) Data Governance team. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as the primary liaison between Business Banking Operations, Credit Risk, Compliance, and Technology groups. Your mission is to design, implement, and oversee data controls, data quality remediation, and reporting frameworks that enable reliable, compliant, and actionable information across the organization.

This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from home while staying closely connected to cross‑functional teams through virtual collaboration tools. You will lead a high‑performing team of analysts, drive strategic initiatives, and champion data‑centric culture throughout arenaflex’s Business Banking division.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Data Governance & Advisory

  • Partner with Business Banking Operations (CBO) leaders and executives to provide expert advisory on data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Data Controls Framework that aligns with arenaflex’s risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and business objectives.
  • Lead the design and execution of data control testing programs, including coordination with Data Owners, Business Banking Data, Review, Independent Testing & Validation (ITV), and the Enterprise Data Management Council.
  • Identify root causes of data gaps or inconsistencies, propose remediation plans, and oversee timely execution of corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of data processes by integrating emerging technologies, automation, and best‑practice methodologies.

Operational Oversight & Reporting

  • Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance for all regulatory and internal reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with Credit Risk, Compliance, and Business Controls teams to align data definitions, metrics, and reporting standards.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of data controls, remediation activities, and audit evidence to support internal and external examinations.
  • Provide regular status updates to senior leadership, highlighting key risks, remediation progress, and opportunities for process optimization.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor and develop a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional workshops and training sessions to embed data governance principles across Business Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), Credit Risk, and Regulatory functions.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting data‑driven decision making and influencing senior stakeholders to adopt robust data controls.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Credit Risk teams to understand data requirements, anticipate future needs, and proactively shape data solutions.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Ensure all data control activities comply with relevant regulations such as Basel III, Dodd‑Frank, and local supervisory expectations.
  • Prepare and support regulatory examinations, providing clear evidence of data control effectiveness and remediation outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes and translate new requirements into actionable data governance initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in data governance, data management, business analysis, or a comparable discipline, acquired through professional work, consulting, military service, or academic projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex data remediation projects and deliver measurable improvements in data quality.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business‑friendly language for senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Regulatory Reporting (e.g., FR Y‑14, Basel III) and familiarity with audit processes.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Risk Analyst (CRA).
