About arenaflex

arenaflex is a fast‑growing, technology‑enabled talent solutions firm that partners with leading insurers, health‑care providers, and Fortune‑500 employers to deliver seamless benefits experiences. Our mission is to simplify the complex world of employee benefits, ensuring every member—whether a seasoned executive or a first‑time employee—receives clear, compassionate, and accurate guidance. With a culture rooted in innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, arenaflex has built a reputation for excellence, agility, and a relentless focus on the human side of benefits administration.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Benefits Representative/Customer Service Agent to join the arenaflex team. This full‑time, home‑based role is designed for individuals who thrive on solving problems, love helping people navigate benefit plans, and enjoy the flexibility of remote work. As the front‑line voice of arenaflex, you will handle inbound and outbound calls, provide accurate benefit information, and ensure each interaction reflects our commitment to empathy, professionalism, and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound and initiate outbound calls from employees, retirees, and dependents seeking clarification on health, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental benefit options.
  • Guide callers through complex plan documents, enrollment portals, and eligibility criteria, translating industry jargon into plain‑language explanations.
  • Deliver real‑time, accurate information about coverage limits, cost‑sharing structures, claim processes, and network provider selections.
  • Maintain and update customer records in arenaflex’s CRM and benefits administration platforms with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior specialists or the benefits operations team while ensuring timely follow‑up and closure.
  • Document each interaction in accordance with compliance standards, capturing key data points for reporting and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teammates—including payroll, HR, and IT—to resolve multi‑layered inquiries and improve overall service delivery.
  • Participate in regular training sessions, knowledge‑base updates, and quality‑assurance reviews to stay current on policy changes and emerging industry trends.
  • Identify recurring pain points and proactively suggest process enhancements that elevate the member experience.
  • Adhere to all data‑privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and internal security protocols while handling sensitive personal information.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in a customer‑service role, preferably within benefits administration, health insurance, or related financial services.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex benefit concepts clearly and courteously.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving aptitude, including the capacity to assess situations quickly, make sound decisions, and de‑escalate tense conversations.
  • Self‑discipline to thrive in a remote environment—managing time, meeting service level agreements, and maintaining productivity without direct supervision.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and familiarity with CRM or benefits platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Benefitfocus).
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate data entry, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • High‑speed internet connection, a quiet workspace, and a reliable headset to support professional call handling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Health Services Management, or a related field.
  • Certification such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or equivalent industry credential.
  • Experience with tele‑health benefits, wellness programs, or flexible spending account (FSA) administration.
  • Familiarity with call‑center metrics (Average Handle Time, First Call Resolution, Net Promoter Score) and a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish or Mandarin, to serve a diverse member base.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Empathy & Active Listening: Ability to understand caller concerns, reflect understanding, and respond with genuine care.
  • Analytical Thinking: Quickly interpret benefit plan structures, eligibility rules, and policy nuances to provide accurate answers.
  • Technical Savvy: Comfort navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously while maintaining data integrity.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks, manage call queues, and adhere to service level agreements without sacrificing quality.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with internal teams, sharing insights that improve overall service delivery.
  • Adaptability: Adjust to evolving benefit offerings, regulatory updates, and shifting business priorities.
  • Professionalism: Represent arenaflex with poise, maintaining confidentiality and a positive brand image at all times.

  • Certification sponsorships for CEBS, SHRM, or other relevant credentials, with reimbursement upon successful completion.
  • Clear career pathways that can lead to senior specialist, team lead, or benefits operations manager roles within 18‑24 months, based on performance and ambition.
  • Opportunities to participate in cross‑functional projects, such as digital self‑service portal enhancements, giving you exposure to product development and UX design.
