Experienced Dental Office Insurance Coordinator

We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our growing team and make sure we are getting paid accurately and promptly for the care we provide. THE ROLE As our Dental Insurance Coordinator, your primary focus will be ensuring that every claim submitted is clean, complete, and paid. You will review claims before submission to confirm that all necessary attachments, narratives, X-rays, and documentation are in place. You will own the follow-up process on outstanding and unpaid claims, work denials and underpayments aggressively, and keep our accounts receivable moving. This is a hybrid position with some days onsite at our Westborough office and some days working remotely. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review claims prior to submission to ensure accuracy, correct coding, and all required attachments (X-rays, photos, narratives, perio charts, etc.)

  • Submit primary and secondary claims in a timely manner using OpenDental- Follow up on all outstanding and unpaid claims to ensure timely reimbursement
  • Work denied and underpaid claims, write and submit appeals with supporting documentation
  • Track claim status and maintain a clean accounts receivable
  • Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately to patient accounts
  • Reconcile insurance aging reports and escalate problem accounts
  • Coordinate with the clinical team to obtain necessary documentation for complex or high-value claims
  • Identify patterns in denials and communicate findings to improve first-pass claim acceptance WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Minimum 2 years of dental insurance billing/coordination experience (required)
  • Strong understanding of codes, claim submission, and EOBs
  • Experience writing appeals and managing denials
  • Knows what attachments and narratives are required to get claims paid the first time
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, stay on top of a full claims workload, and follow through
  • Professional communicator who can coordinate with clinical staff to get what is needed
  • A results-driven mindset focused on getting the office paid COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
