Position Overview

arenaflex has immediate openings for full-time, remote, temp-to-hire Customer Service Representatives. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to providing outstanding customer service while supporting participants in accessing essential income maintenance programs related to medical services. As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will serve as a vital point of contact for program participants, helping them understand their eligibility, answering questions, and ensuring that their cases are processed accurately and efficiently.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must be residents of Missouri and must reside more than 45 minutes from Jefferson City. The role offers a structured schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a competitive starting wage of $16.50 per hour. After an initial temporary period, successful candidates will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role with arenaflex, enjoying long-term career stability and advancement potential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of important duties that directly impact the lives of program participants. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Handling Inbound Calls: Answer incoming calls from program participants regarding initial and continuing eligibility for income maintenance programs related to medical services. You will serve as the first line of support, providing clear, accurate, and empathetic guidance to every caller.
  • Information Gathering and Verification: Collect, verify, evaluate, and enter necessary social, financial, and medical information into various computer applications. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical in this step to ensure participants receive the correct benefits and services.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain complete and accurate computerized records of all participant interactions, ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Diverse Task Management: Perform a variety of diverse tasks while continuing to maintain currency and accuracy regarding program requirements. This includes staying up-to-date on policy changes, procedural updates, and regulatory adjustments.
  • Timely Processing of Inquiries: Ensure timely processing of participant inquiries and annual reviews to meet client needs and program mandates. Meeting deadlines and quality standards is essential to the success of this role.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed as a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Basic Office and Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computers, navigating multiple software applications, and managing digital records is required.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle difficult conversations and de-escalate tense situations involving fear, hostility, or aggression.
  • Mathematical and Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with mathematics and accounting principles as they apply to the calculation of public assistance benefits.
  • Reliable Home Office Setup: Must have high-speed internet access, a quiet workspace with a closed door to safeguard equipment, and a modem/router capable of hard-wiring a phone for secure and stable connectivity.
  • Knowledge of Public Assistance Programs: Understanding of the general provisions, objectives, and philosophy of public assistance programs is highly preferred.

  • Excellent Attendance: Must maintain excellent attendance with no absences during the 6-8 week training period, which is critical to building a strong foundation in the role.
  • Background and Drug Screening: Must have a clean background and the ability to pass a drug screening as part of the hiring process.

  • Prior experience in customer service, call center operations, or public sector program support.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, or other income maintenance programs.
