We are currently hiring a Manager, Data Analytics to join our dynamic team on a part-time, remote basis. Position Summary

The Manager, Data Analytics will serve as a key strategic partner to cross-functional stakeholders, providing deep analytical expertise, quantitative research, and data-driven storytelling to inform planning, forecasting, and business decisions across music marketing, content discovery, and audience engagement channels. This individual will develop a profound understanding of consumer behavior within the music ecosystem, translate business questions into analytical frameworks, and deliver compelling narratives from large-scale, transaction-level datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Analytical Innovation: Lead pragmatic approaches to solving complex business problems through data creation, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics. Develop new features by integrating internal and external data sources, and apply segmentation, regression, and classification models to surface meaningful insights.
  • Support Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to key business initiatives and emerging opportunities by building analytical models and frameworks that evaluate potential, identify performance drivers, and quantify the impact of environmental and market factors.
  • Inform Business Strategy: Apply data mining, quantitative analysis, and data visualization to surface critical themes and answer business questions across diverse functional areas, including product, marketing, and sales.
  • Data Engineering & Preparation: Extract, organize, cleanse, and manipulate complex, large-scale datasets from multiple disparate sources. Utilize tools such as PySpark and advanced SQL to efficiently interact with and transform data at scale.
  • Apply Machine Learning Techniques: Implement supervised and unsupervised learning methods—including linear and logistic regression, decision trees, and k-means clustering—to derive, validate, and quantify conclusions from data.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the analytical partner for cross-functional stakeholders, identifying opportunities, understanding performance drivers, and conducting deep-dive analyses to deliver actionable, data-driven insights.
  • Continuous Reporting & Analysis: Contribute to ongoing reporting and analytical workflows that inform business, product, marketing, and sales decisions across the organization.
  • Content & Audience Performance Analysis: Lead performance analysis for product releases, develop and monitor key metrics to measure success, and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Statistical Analysis & Pipelines: Perform advanced statistical analysis including KPI deep-dives, behavioral segmentation, and customer journey analysis. Build analytical pipelines for automated, scalable, repeatable, and integrated analysis using modern big data ecosystems such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Google BigQuery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and product teams to execute on data initiatives, contributing to solution discovery, design, build, and QA processes. Collaborate on data models, database structures, ETL/ELT pipelines, and validation frameworks.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and coach at least one team member, setting clear expectations, defining boundaries, and maximizing impact across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data analytics, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Statistical Modeling: Proven experience developing statistical models and analyses in an industry setting for business use cases, with applied knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
  • Data Manipulation: Demonstrated skill in manipulating large, transaction-level datasets and interpreting data trends from multiple disparate sources.
  • Programming Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience developing sophisticated analytical solutions using scripting languages such as Python or R.
  • SQL & Big Data: Mastery of advanced SQL, large-scale data processing, and mathematical computing languages such as PySpark.
  • Distributed Systems: Experience with data mining in distributed systems such as Spark or Databricks.
  • Visualization Tools: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization platforms such as Tableau or Looker.
  • Scalable Solutions: Experience developing analytical software that scales analyses efficiently across large datasets.
  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience working with media performance data and data within the entertainment or media industry.
  • Documentation Skills: Solid experience documenting data requirements, assumptions, and business rules.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Metric Design: A passion for building clear, concise, and meaningful metrics that drive business decisions.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated track record of using data to deliver business value and presenting data-driven insights to business audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across an organization.
