Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Pharmacy Customer Service Associate to join our growing team of pharmacy professionals. This full‑time, remote role focuses on data entry, patient interaction, and support for pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will be the friendly voice and diligent data steward who ensures prescriptions are processed accurately, customers receive timely assistance, and the pharmacy workflow runs smoothly—all while working from a home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, efficient, and accurate assistance to customers and patients via phone, chat, and email, ensuring a positive experience that reflects arenaflex’s brand values.
  • Enter patient and prescription information into arenaflex pharmacy systems with meticulous attention to detail, adhering to all state, federal, and corporate compliance standards.
  • Process transactions on the pharmacy point‑of‑sale (POS) system, including cash handling, refunds, voids, discounts, and exchanges, while maintaining a clear audit trail.
  • Assist pharmacy technicians and pharmacists with prescription filling tasks such as counting, measuring, and labeling medications, and verify that the correct drug is selected for each patient.
  • Identify and report any medication errors or discrepancies immediately to the supervising pharmacist, following arenaflex’s Quality Improvement Program and error‑reporting protocols.
  • Manage inbound calls that do not require pharmacist intervention, including prescription refill requests, medication inquiries, and coordination with healthcare providers.
  • Support inventory management activities remotely, including reviewing stock levels, flagging low‑stock items, and coordinating with the distribution center for replenishment.
  • Maintain compliance with controlled substance regulations, ensuring that alcohol, tobacco, and other regulated items are handled according to state and local laws.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs, including PTCB certification preparation, pharmacy software updates, and continuing education on emerging pharmacy practices.
  • Contribute to special projects such as promotional setup, seasonal merchandising, and process improvement initiatives as assigned by pharmacy leadership.
  • Uphold arenaflex’s core values—integrity, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement—in every interaction with colleagues and customers.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any discipline) or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English; ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of a 24/7 pharmacy operation.
  • Basic understanding of pharmacy terminology, prescription processing, and medication safety principles.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and comfort learning new pharmacy management systems.
  • Excellent numerical aptitude—accurate counting, measuring, and calculation skills are essential for medication verification.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • At least six months of experience in a retail environment, preferably within a pharmacy or health‑care setting.
  • Prior experience with arenaflex or a similar large‑scale retail pharmacy chain.
  • Experience using pharmacy software platforms (e.g., RxConnect, PioneerRx, or similar) and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) integration.
  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or active pursuit of certification through arenaflex’s internal training program.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high‑volume data entry while maintaining a 99.9% accuracy rate.
  • Strong customer‑service orientation with a track record of resolving issues promptly and empathetically.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies in prescription data and ensure flawless entry.
  • Communication: Clear, friendly, and professional interaction with patients, pharmacists, and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating pharmacy software, POS systems, and digital communication tools.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quickly identify issues, propose solutions, and follow through with corrective actions.
  • Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of HIPAA, state pharmacy regulations, and arenaflex’s internal policies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with on‑site pharmacy staff, remote support teams, and corporate partners.

  • Fully funded PTCB certification courses, with the option to earn additional credentials such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and Advanced Pharmacy Technician (APhT).
  • Regular webinars on emerging pharmacy trends, medication safety, and digital health innovations.
  • Opportunities to transition into on‑site pharmacy roles, supervisory positions, or specialized support functions (e.g., medication therapy management, compliance auditing).
  • Cross‑functional exposure to arenaflex’s supply chain, marketing, and technology teams, broadening your skill set beyond the pharmacy floor.
