About arenaflex

arenaflex is a world‑leading airline that connects continents, cultures, and economies. With a fleet that spans the globe and a reputation built on safety, reliability, and innovation, arenaflex continuously pushes the boundaries of what modern air travel can achieve. Our Technical Operations Division is the engine that keeps every aircraft in the sky performing at peak efficiency, and we are looking for forward‑thinking professionals who want to be part of that high‑impact mission.

Why This Role Is Exciting

As a Remote Part‑Time L2 Fleet Engineer you will join aren’s renowned Fleet Engineering Team while enjoying the flexibility of working from anywhere. This position blends hands‑on technical problem solving with strategic project management, giving you the chance to influence aircraft reliability, reduce operational disruptions, and directly support the pilots and maintenance crews who keep our planes airborne. If you thrive on solving complex engineering puzzles, love collaborating across departments, and appreciate a work‑life balance that lets you explore the world on your own terms, this role is tailor‑made for you.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be the technical bridge between day‑to‑day airline operations and long‑term reliability initiatives. Your core duties will include:

  • Operational Awareness: Monitor daily airline operations relevant to your field of responsibility, staying current with flight schedules, maintenance windows, and emerging technical alerts.
  • Priority Assessment: Evaluate and rank daily tasks in line with arenaflex’s operational objectives and management directives, ensuring the most critical issues receive immediate attention.
  • Problem Investigation: Diagnose aircraft or component anomalies that could lead to delays, cancellations, or costly maintenance interventions, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Engineering Support: Provide expert technical guidance to restore serviceable status for aircraft and components, collaborating closely with Maintenance, Flight Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Cross‑Departmental Collaboration: Respond promptly to technical assistance requests from other arenaflex departments, supporting both ad‑hoc projects and long‑term initiatives.
  • Project Development: Design and execute action plans for fleet‑wide or multi‑fleet engineering projects, tracking progress against milestones and delivering final dispositions.
  • Documentation & Procedures: Author and update engineering documents, including repair, modification, inspection, and maintenance procedures that align with arenaflex’s safety and performance standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilization, feeding insights back into the broader Technical Operations strategy.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in aircraft systems engineering, preferably within a commercial airline or certified maintenance organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex mechanical or avionics issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear engineering documentation and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard software tools such as SAP, IBM Maximo, or equivalent CMMS platforms.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of accountability and productivity.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or certifications required by arenaflex.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced certifications (e.g., FAA Airframe & Powerplant, EASA Part‑66) that deepen technical expertise.
  • Experience with the A319, A320, and A321 aircraft families, including familiarity with their systems architecture and common failure modes.
  • Project management experience, preferably with PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Knowledge of reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies and data‑driven reliability analysis.
  • Previous exposure to remote or distributed team environments, demonstrating effective virtual collaboration.
  • Fluency in a second language, which can be advantageous when coordinating with international maintenance bases.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of aircraft structures, propulsion, avionics, and environmental control systems.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Ability to dissect complex issues, develop root‑cause analyses, and propose practical, cost‑effective solutions.
  • Project Leadership: Skill in planning, executing, and closing engineering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with cross‑functional teams, including Maintenance, Flight Operations, Safety, and Finance.
  • Communication: Clear articulation of technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, and precise documentation of engineering actions.
  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating a fast‑paced, ever‑changing aviation environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and familiarity with cloud‑based collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Slack, SharePoint).

  • Opportunities to rotate through on‑site maintenance hubs, gaining hands‑on exposure to aircraft inspections, line maintenance, and depot-level repairs.
  • Participation in cutting‑edge research initiatives focused on predictive maintenance, digital twins, and AI‑driven reliability analytics.
