HR Systems and Operations Analyst

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-11

Basic Function The HR Systems and Operations Analyst owns the technology backbone of the HR function, with primary responsibility for managing, optimizing, and evolving Lumin Digital’s HR systems ecosystem — anchored by UKG Ready HCM. This role ensures HR data flows accurately, automated workflows run efficiently, and the HR team has the infrastructure and insights needed to support the business. The ideal candidate is an HR professional at heart who thrives in a back-office, systems-focused environment — someone who translates business needs into effective system solutions and finds real satisfaction in clean data, well-designed processes, and operational precision. This role also plays an active part in Lumin Digital’s AI initiatives, contributing to technology-forward solutions that improve the HR and employee experience. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Own UKG Ready HCM end-to-end, driving system configuration, ongoing maintenance, workflow design, and continuous improvement to ensure the platform operates accurately and efficiently for employees and HR alike.
  • Own the day-to-day administration of UKG Ready, including employee lifecycle transactions, change approvals, benefit elections, position management, and user access.
  • Manage EDI file feeds with benefit carriers — monitoring delivery, validating data accuracy, troubleshooting errors, and serving as the primary liaison with UKG support for system issues and escalations.
  • Partner with HR leadership and the Total Rewards Analyst to triage employee benefit questions and support open enrollment administration, including system setup, testing, and post-enrollment audits.
  • Produce and manage ad hoc HR reports and data requests; maintain clean, consistent, and audit-ready employee data across all HR platforms.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements across HR systems and workflows to reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and scale HR operations.
  • Serve as backup support for payroll processing as needed, executing established procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Actively participate in and occasionally lead AI initiatives, including contributing to the design and rollout of AI-powered tools to improve the HR and employee experience.
  • Maintain HR system process documentation and SOPs; support compliance reporting needs (e.g., ACA, EEO-1) by pulling and validating data from HR systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds
  • Individuals with a disability who are otherwise able to perform the essential functions of the job may request reasonable accommodation through the Human Resources department.

Position Specifications Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 4 years of experience in an HR systems, HRIS analyst, or HR operations role, preferably within the SaaS or technology sector.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing and configuring robust HCM/HRIS software; UKG Ready system administration experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing EDI file feeds with benefit carriers, including monitoring file delivery, data validation, troubleshooting errors, and coordinating with carrier and vendor support teams.
  • Prior experience working with AI tools in a professional or HR context; ability to understand how AI can be leveraged to solve HR and operational challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits administration, including vendor coordination, eligibility management, and employee triage support.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Deep proficiency with UKG Ready HCM, including system configuration, workflow management, EDI feed management, and data integrity practices.
  • Solid understanding of benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollments, life events, EDI feeds, and carrier coordination.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and a clear understanding of how AI can be applied to improve HR processes and the employee experience; curiosity and willingness to lead AI-related initiatives.
  • High level of technical aptitude; ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process gaps, troubleshoot system issues, and drive solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable operating with autonomy.
