Title: Salesforce DevOps Engineer With Gearset (W2 Position) Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months This role ensures reliable releases, version control, environment management, and compliance with CI/CD best practices. Core Responsibilities and Expertise Deep Salesforce Platform Expertise Strong understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and managed packages. Hands-on experience with Apex, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Platform Events. Job Description: Need 10+ years of experience as a Salesforce DevOps Engineer Experience handling complex metadata deployments, including picklist values, record types, profiles versus permission sets, destructive changes, managed versus unmanaged package dependencies, and feature- or setting-level metadata nuances. Environment and Release Management Clear understanding of sandbox strategy (Developer, Developer Pro, Partial Copy, Full Copy) and Scratch Orgs, including when and why to use each. Experience managing multi-track development and parallel releases across QA, UAT, Staging, and Production. Ability to design and enforce release governance, deployment windows, and change control processes. Hands-on experience coordinating hotfixes, emergency releases, and rollback strategies. CI/CD and DevOps Tooling Strong knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, including branching strategies, pull request reviews, and merge conflict resolution. Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce, including automated deployments, test execution, validation strategies, and pre- and post-deployment checks. Gearset Expertise Gearset Fundamentals Certification, Gearset Git Branching Strategies course, and Gearset Automation Certification preferred. Proven hands-on experience using Gearset in enterprise-scale orgs. Security and Access Management Strong understanding of the Salesforce security model, including Profiles, Permission Sets, Permission Set Groups, role hierarchy, and sharing rules. Experience managing deployment users, integration users, and least-privilege access. Knowledge of OAuth, Connected Apps, External Credentials, and certificate-based integrations. Experience supporting production incidents, performance degradations, and tool outages. Familiarity with Event Monitoring, debug logs, and deployment logs for root cause analysis. Hands-on experience with backup solutions, preferably Gearset Backup, including full and incremental backups, scheduling, monitoring backup health, retention policies, and storage considerations. Hands-on expertise with Gearset and Salesforce DevOps delivery practices in enterprise environments Experience with Git-based source control, branching strategies, and pull request governance Proficiency with CI/CD pipeline design, automated validations, and release controls Strong understanding of Salesforce security, access management, and compliance requirements Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, and rollback planning Proven ability to troubleshoot deployments, manage incidents, and communicate effectively across technical and business teams Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer, Administrator, or DevOps-related credentials Gearset Fundamentals Certification, Gearset Git Branching Strategies course, and Gearset Automation Certification Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Salesforce environments with multiple release tracks Knowledge of Agile delivery models, release governance, and audit-readiness practices Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and continuous improvement mindset in DevOps operations Typical Tools and Technologies Gearset (deployment automation, CI/CD, backup, and restore) GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket Salesforce DX and CLI tooling Jira, Azure Boards, or similar work tracking platforms Event Monitoring, debug logs, and deployment logs for operational support Apply To This Job
