About arenaflex

arenaflex is a fast‑growing technology‑focused subsidiary that powers the data‑intelligence engine behind one of the world’s largest retail ecosystems. With a mission to turn raw information into actionable insight, arenaflex blends cutting‑edge analytics, cloud‑native data platforms, and a culture of relentless curiosity. Our teams work across the globe to help merchants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders make smarter, faster decisions that shape the future of omni‑channel retail. As a part‑time remote member of this vibrant community, you’ll be at the heart of a data‑driven transformation that impacts millions of customers every day.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst on a part‑time, remote basis to join arenaflex’s Data Adventures team. In this role you will partner closely with Product and Data Science groups to uncover hidden patterns, translate business needs into analytical solutions, and deliver visual storytelling that drives strategic outcomes. The position offers a flexible 8‑hour workday, a competitive rate of $25 per hour, and the opportunity to work from anywhere in the United States while contributing to high‑impact projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, map end‑to‑end processes, and identify the most valuable data sources for analysis.
  • Design, develop, and execute exploratory data analysis (EDA) studies that surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate complex business problems into clear analytical tasks, define success metrics, and produce deliverables that align with product roadmaps.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines using SQL, Python, or R to extract, transform, and load (ETL) large‑scale datasets from relational (SQL) and non‑relational (NoSQL) stores.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations in Looker, Power BI, or similar tools to communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Partner with Data Scientists to validate model assumptions, provide feature engineering support, and ensure analytical rigor throughout the lifecycle of machine‑learning initiatives.
  • Document analytical methodologies, data lineage, and business logic to foster reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Stay current with emerging data‑technology trends—such as BigQuery, Snowflake, and cloud‑based analytics platforms—and recommend best‑in‑class solutions that enhance arenaflex’s data stack.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a culture of continuous learning by sharing insights, code snippets, and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience working with large, complex datasets in a commercial or consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation; ability to write optimized queries for high‑volume tables.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in data‑wrangling libraries (pandas, dplyr) and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling visualizations and dashboards using Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving aptitude, and a data‑storytelling mindset.
  • Effective communication skills—both written and verbal—to convey technical concepts to business partners.
  • Self‑motivation and the discipline to thrive in a remote, part‑time environment while meeting project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and data‑lake architectures.
  • Exposure to machine‑learning pipelines and collaboration with data‑science teams on model deployment.
  • Knowledge of data‑governance, data‑quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Prior work in retail, e‑commerce, or supply‑chain analytics, providing domain context for business challenges.
  • Certification in analytics platforms (e.g., Looker LookML, Power BI) or cloud certifications (Google Cloud, AWS).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to dissect complex problems, formulate hypotheses, and test them with data.
  • Technical Acumen: Mastery of SQL, Python/R, and data‑visualization tools; comfortable navigating large data ecosystems.
  • Business Insight: Understanding of retail operations, customer behavior, and omni‑channel dynamics.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork orientation, capable of building trust with product managers, engineers, and senior leadership.
  • Communication: Clear, concise storytelling that translates numbers into actionable recommendations.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to pivot between projects, learn new technologies quickly, and thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Integrity & Ethics: Commitment to data privacy, security, and responsible use of information.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its talent. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship programs pairing you with senior leaders in data science, engineering, and product strategy.
  • Annual learning stipends for conferences, certifications, or online courses (e.g., Coursera, Udacity, DataCamp).
  • Internal “Data Hackathons” that encourage innovative thinking and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Clear promotion pathways—from Senior Analyst to Lead Analyst, and eventually to Data Product Manager or Analytics Architect.
  • Opportunities to work on high‑visibility projects that directly influence arenaflex’s product roadmap and retail partner success.

Work Environment & Culture

  • Continuous learning budget and tuition assistance for advanced degrees.
  • Recognition programs that celebrate data‑driven achievements and innovation.
