Experienced Senior Data Scientist – AI & Machine Learning for CVS Media Exchange (CMX) Analytics Team

You'll work alongside cross-functional teams to understand business challenges, design experiments, and build predictive models that drive adoption, engagement, retention, and conversion across our digital platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning algorithms and statistical predictive models to solve complex business problems across classification and regression scenarios
• Extract meaningful insights from both structured and unstructured data, interpret complex model results, and present findings to diverse audiences including technical peers, non-technical stakeholders, and senior leadership
• Collaborate closely with business partners to understand their challenges and objectives, developing predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and comprehensive data reporting frameworks
• Plan and execute online A/B testing experiments, measure results, and optimize for enhanced performance across digital channels
• Apply causal inference methodologies and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) techniques to optimize initiatives where traditional A/B testing isn't feasible or appropriate
• Prepare data for analysis by working with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, evaluate data quality and completeness, and perform feature engineering
• Develop and deliver presentations and meetings to present analysis results and solution recommendations to existing and prospective internal stakeholders
• Communicate complex technical information effectively with internal and external partners and leadership across various areas of specialization
• Utilize strong programming skills to explore, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data in multiple formats
• Stay current with emerging industry trends, tools, and techniques in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline. A PhD in a related discipline is preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience applying modern AI and machine learning techniques to build predictive models for both classification and regression problems
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated ability to write efficient code for data analysis and modeling
• Communication: At least 2 years of experience extracting meaningful insights from analysis, interpreting complex model results, and presenting findings to business audiences including technical, non-technical, and executive stakeholders
• Data Preparation: Minimum 2 years of experience preparing data for analysis, collaborating with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, evaluating data quality and completeness, and performing feature engineering
• Advanced Analytics: 2+ years of experience applying knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large datasets from various data sources
• Experimental Design: At least 2 years of experience in experimental design and supervised/unsupervised machine learning approaches

Preferred Capabilities

• Proven experience planning and executing online A/B testing experiments in a professional setting
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and recommendations effectively to cross-functional team members
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, project leads, and senior management
• Proactive approach to anticipating and preventing issues and roadblocks before they impact project outcomes
• Expertise in a broad range of statistical analysis techniques, machine learning, statistical investigations, experimental design, and predictive modeling, with deep specialization in specific areas such as personalization engines, recommendation systems, or customer lifetime value modeling

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with a primary location in our California office. You should be able to commute to our New York City office 3 days out of each week on a rotating basis, approximately every other week. You'll be joining the Enterprise Digital Analytics (EDA) team, where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on CVS Media Exchange and CVS.com/mobile application products. Through this exposure, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of all specialty units within arenaflex, building valuable cross-functional relationships and expanding your professional network.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range

The ordinary compensation range for this role is $106,605.00 - $206,000.00 annually. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base yearly full-time compensation for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base compensation offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.

Additional Compensation

This position is eligible for an arenaflex bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base compensation range listed above. Your total rewards package reflects our commitment to recognizing and rewarding your contributions to our organization's success.
