About arenaflex

arenaflex is a world‑leading e‑commerce powerhouse that connects millions of shoppers with the home‑goods they love. With a vibrant headquarters in Boston and a global footprint that spans continents, arenaflex is redefining how people discover, purchase, and experience home décor. Our relentless focus on innovation, data‑driven decision‑making, and customer‑centric culture has positioned us at the forefront of the online retail industry. As we continue to expand our logistics network, marketplace partnerships, and technology platforms, we are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of global supply chain operations.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s fast‑moving e‑commerce environment, the legal complexities of supply chain and logistics are both vast and critical. The Senior Global Supply Chain & Operations Attorney will serve as the strategic legal partner for all worldwide supply chain initiatives, ensuring that arenaflex’s contracts, agreements, and compliance frameworks are robust, risk‑aware, and aligned with our aggressive growth objectives. This role offers a unique blend of high‑impact legal work, cross‑functional collaboration, and the opportunity to influence the direction of a multi‑billion‑dollar business.

Location & Work Arrangement

This position is based in our Boston office. We embrace a hybrid work model that balances collaboration with flexibility: four days per week in the office and one remote day. Our modern workspace is designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and well‑being, with open‑plan areas, quiet zones, and state‑of‑the‑art meeting rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Advisory: Act as the primary legal counsel for all global supply chain and logistics matters, providing proactive guidance to the projects and operations teams.
  • Contract Management: Lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of complex commercial agreements, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts for freight forwarding, carrier procurement, warehousing, fulfillment, and transportation services.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Support major acquisition projects, such as carrier contracts, transportation asset purchases, and vendor agreements for fulfillment and last‑mile delivery.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance programs, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards.
  • Process Optimization: Drive efficiency across high‑volume workstreams by creating standardized templates, playbooks, and self‑service tools for internal stakeholders.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product, finance, operations, and technology teams to align legal strategies with business goals.
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as the go‑to subject‑matter expert on supply chain law within the legal department and across arenaflex, mentoring junior counsel and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Data Governance: Work with the business to build and maintain a unified compliance data repository for regulated activities such as FMC (Freight Management Compliance) and DAB (Data Access and Billing) compliance.

Essential Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of substantive legal experience in global supply chain, logistics, or transportation law, preferably within a large e‑commerce or multinational corporation.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and draft complex commercial contracts, including carrier agreements, warehousing contracts, and fulfillment service agreements.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and related risk management frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey intricate legal concepts to non‑legal audiences.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple high‑stakes projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strategic mindset with a proactive, “roll‑up‑the‑sleeves” attitude and a passion for solving intricate business problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast‑growing technology‑driven environment or a start‑up culture.
  • Exposure to e‑commerce platforms, marketplace dynamics, and omnichannel fulfillment strategies.
  • Familiarity with data‑privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) as they relate to supply chain data handling.
  • Certification in project management (PMP, Agile) or contract management (CCM).
  • Multilingual abilities, especially in languages relevant to key logistics markets (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, German).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Acumen: Ability to dissect complex contractual language and assess risk implications.
  • Negotiation Prowess: Skilled at achieving favorable outcomes while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross‑functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic, high‑growth environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
  • Technology Savvy: Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools, e‑procurement platforms, and data analytics dashboards.
  • Ethical Judgment: Commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
