Position Overview

The Senior Automation Solutions Engineer will partner with arenaflex’s Global Supply Chain teams to design, develop, and implement automation strategies that drive operational efficiency, enhance service quality, and reduce cost‑to‑serve. This role sits at the intersection of technology, business analysis, and change management, providing a unique opportunity to influence multi‑national automation roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and champion best‑practice adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Automation Planning: Direct the creation and execution of automation initiatives for each arenaflex market, aligning technology investments with functional objectives and long‑term business goals.
  • Business Case Development: Build data‑driven business cases that articulate the need for automation, quantify expected benefits, and secure stakeholder approval for capital allocation.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross‑functional projects that research, design, pilot, and scale automation solutions across stores, distribution centers, and fulfillment hubs.
  • Technology Scouting & Evaluation: Identify emerging automation and digital technologies—including robotics, AI, IoT, and augmented reality—conduct proof‑of‑concepts, and assess vendor fit with arenaflex’s operational models.
  • Process Architecture & Governance: Define and communicate automation best practices, including system architecture, data flow, and end‑to‑end impact on upstream and downstream supply‑chain processes.
  • Stakeholder Enablement: Coach market teams and senior leaders on automation opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data‑driven decision making.
  • Collaboration with Vendors: Establish and nurture strategic relationships with automation suppliers, ensuring collaborative development of solutions that meet arenaflex’s standards and timelines.
  • Change Management: Drive adoption of new technologies through training, documentation, and support, minimizing disruption while maximizing operational gains.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience designing and implementing automation solutions within large‑scale supply‑chain or retail environments.
  • Deep understanding of material handling cycles, warehouse management systems (WMS), and end‑to‑end logistics processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with automation vendors, including robotics, conveyor systems, and AI‑driven optimization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling business cases, conduct ROI analysis, and influence senior leadership decisions.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex, multi‑regional initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear business value for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
