About This Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our Business Intelligence and Product team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business knowledge and product leads to drive customer growth by delivering actionable business and audience insights through experimental design and comprehensive analyses. Key Responsibilities

• Investigate Customer Needs: Analyze customer needs and identify/prioritize pain points, trouble spots, and delight factors through statistical analysis, behavioral data, click streams, conversion funnels, and other quantitative indicators.
• Build Predictive Models: Construct advanced models to uncover insights on what drives performance across reach, retention, referrals, and revenue growth. Apply machine learning techniques to forecast trends and identify opportunities.
• Create Dashboards and Reports: Develop dashboards and reports that provide meaningful analysis and discourse, explaining product, marketing, and business trends for Executive leadership reporting.
• Communicate Insights: Inform and update leaders and stakeholders on product performance, initiatives, and progress towards key metrics through clear, data-driven presentations.
• Design Testing Frameworks: Define data testing plans and create strategies that help teams execute rapid experimentation and release new features for testing, with successful experiments rolled out globally.
• Focus on Key Metrics: Center the product roadmap around achieving the metrics that matter and making ruthless decisions about what to prioritize and what to deprioritize.
• Conduct Competitive Research: Develop and dive deep on consumer insights and competitive intelligence to help teams drive product innovation and process improvement.
• Translate Customer Insights: Assist teams in understanding and assimilating consumer insights, decisions, and preferences—and how these impact the product roadmap to drive growth.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with product, design, engineering, and marketing teams to enable them to launch new growth initiatives for testing and iteration.
• Evaluate Product Launches: Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on impact of product launches, including target launch metrics, A/B testing results, and post-launch performance.
• Analyze Metric Deviations: Distil all findings from statistically significant deviations that will impact reach, retention, referrals, and ultimately revenue metrics.
• Data Quality Assurance: Research data quality and partner closely with Data Engineering teams to provide actionable requirements and improvements.
• Problem Formulation: Frame business problems into questions that can be answered through data analysis and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Lead Strategic Projects: Plan and lead time-sensitive strategic analysis projects including methodology development, research, key recommendations, and presentation of findings to Senior Management.

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a highly quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or Data Science.
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and database querying.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience working in the financial services or fintech sector is highly preferred.
• Data Analysis Skills: Proven experience in data analysis and generating actionable insights for consumer-centered organizations.
• Query Development: Strong knowledge of query development and data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies including Hive, Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, and similar frameworks.
• Machine Learning Skills: Solid machine learning skills, including clustering algorithms, neural networks, predictive modeling, and classification techniques.
• Statistical Methods: Extensive experience with statistical methodologies including correlation analysis, design of experiments, linear and nonlinear regressions, logistic regression, sampling and resampling techniques, time series analysis, and longitudinal analysis.
• Product Experience: Significant experience, capability in, and passion for Mobile or Web products is essential.
