About the Role

As a Ground Support Equipment Maintenance Technician at Arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the specialized ground support equipment that powers our aviation operations. This position is within our Ground Support Equipment (GSE) division and involves working on vehicles and heavy machinery at our Colorado location. You'll be responsible for inspecting, repairing, troubleshooting, servicing, and upgrading the automated ground support equipment owned and operated by Arenaflex. Your technical expertise will directly contribute to maintaining safety standards, operational efficiency, and reliability across our equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities as a GSE Maintenance Technician will include:

  • Equipment Inspection and Repair: Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and upgrades on all GSE equipment, including but not limited to truck chassis, bodies, and drive-train components across a diverse range of machinery.
  • Electrical and Hydraulic Systems: Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and related components. This includes working with motors, controls, wiring, pumps, cylinders, and fluid power systems.
  • Bodywork and Painting: Execute bodywork repairs, painting, and specialized fabrication tasks to restore equipment to proper operating condition while maintaining aesthetic and structural integrity.
  • Documented Maintenance: Complete accurate data entry to record all work tasks, maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment status. This documentation must be thorough and completed in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Arenaflex team members, including communicating case-by-case basis with various departments and personnel to coordinate repairs and ensure seamless operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Practice safety-conscious and environmentally conscious behaviors in all functional processes and procedures. Adhere to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Participate in preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the useful life of GSE assets.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to equipment failures and emergencies as needed, providing timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Technical Documentation: Read, understand, and apply information found in technical records, manuals, schematics, and diagrams to perform repairs accurately.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently, with the capacity to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • PhysicalCapabilities:
    • Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
    • Ability to occasionally lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
    • Physical stamina to perform duties in various environmental conditions, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule including fixed or rotating shifts, with willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Availability: Willingness to travel as needed for training, support, and operational requirements.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to read, understand, and apply information found in technical records and manuals.
  • Safety Focus: Consistently prioritize the safety and security of self, others, and company property.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in mechanical repair, maintenance, or related technical field.
  • Entry Testing: Must achieve a passing score on entry tests designed to determine the ability to perform required tasks.

  • Technical Knowledge: A detailed understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and their applications.
  • Schematic Reading: Advanced ability to read, understand, and apply information found in technical records, manuals, and schematics.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills while functioning as part of a team and coordinating repairs with other GSE technicians and external vendors.
  • Client Focus: Ability to respond to internal and external client needs with minimal direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience working with ground support equipment in an aviation, airline, or airport environment.
  • Certifications:Relevant technical certifications or specialized training in equipment repair.

Internal Development Requirements

For internal candidates seeking to transition into this role, the following requirements apply:

  • If applying from within the organization, you must be in good standing in your current position with no formal written disciplinary warnings, remedial actions, or performance improvement notices within the past six months.
  • You should not have transferred or moved from your current office or location within the past six months, except for eligible temporary opportunities such as special assignments.
  • If moving from outside the ACS/CGO/Clean/GSE division, you must have held your current position for at least three years.
  • Candidates must currently be on active status. If you are on inactive status, you may be eligible to apply once you have returned to active status prior to the transfer date.
