Join arenaflex – Shaping the Future of Digital Customer Experiences

arenaflex is a global leader in entertainment and technology, delivering immersive, data‑driven experiences to millions of users across the world. Our mission is to blend creativity with cutting‑edge engineering to create seamless, personalized journeys for every viewer, listener, and gamer. As part of our rapidly expanding Customer Experience (CEX) organization, we are looking for a visionary Part‑Time Customer Experience Architecture Specialist who will help design, build, and evolve the data and system architectures that power our next‑generation services.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s hyper‑connected world, the quality of a digital experience can make or break a brand. At arenaflex, we serve over 150 million active users across multiple continents, spanning mobile, web, and connected‑TV platforms. The architecture you design will directly influence how quickly new features reach our audience, how reliably our services operate at scale, and how intelligently we can personalize content for each individual. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on a product that touches the lives of millions while working from the comfort of your own home.

Role Overview

As a Customer Experience Architecture Specialist, you will act as the technical visionary for the Discovery sub‑team (Home, Personalization, and Search). You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, engineers, and designers to translate business goals into robust, scalable system designs. Your expertise will guide the creation of data pipelines, storage solutions, and service APIs that enable real‑time personalization and discovery across all of arenaflex’s platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Define and champion the end‑to‑end architecture for discovery‑related services, ensuring alignment with overall CEX strategy.
  • Technical Design: Produce high‑level design documents, component diagrams, and data flow models that clearly articulate system behavior and integration points.
  • Problem Decomposition: Break down complex business challenges into modular, maintainable solutions that can be iteratively delivered.
  • Guideline Development: Establish best‑practice guidelines, coding standards, and architectural patterns for the team and broader engineering organization.
  • Data Quality & Metrics: Design and implement data quality frameworks, monitoring dashboards, and key performance indicators to track system health.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with backend, frontend, machine‑learning, and analytics teams to ensure cohesive delivery of features.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Provide technical mentorship to junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption to keep arenaflex at the forefront of innovation.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and drive performance improvements across distributed systems.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation and lead knowledge‑transfer sessions to disseminate architectural insights.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience designing large‑scale, distributed systems.
  • Strong background as a senior software engineer with deep expertise in system design and architecture.
  • Proven experience with both relational (SQL) and non‑relational (NoSQL) data stores, and the ability to select appropriate technologies based on use‑case requirements.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data governance principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of delivering high‑impact solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders across backend, frontend, and machine‑learning domains.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative environment while meeting ambitious deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • 13+ years of professional experience as a backend/full‑stack engineer, with a focus on building highly scalable and performant distributed systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with machine‑learning pipelines, data science workflows, or search technologies in a B2C (e‑commerce, OTT) context.
  • Experience leading architecture initiatives for personalization or recommendation engines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Track record of mentoring junior engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.
  • Passion for staying current with industry trends, open‑source projects, and emerging best practices.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • System Design: Ability to design fault‑tolerant, highly available services that can scale horizontally.
  • Data Engineering: Expertise in building robust data pipelines, ETL processes, and real‑time streaming architectures.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one major language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, Scala) and familiarity with modern development frameworks.
  • API Design: Experience designing RESTful and gRPC APIs with clear versioning and documentation.
  • Performance Tuning: Skills in profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing latency‑critical workloads.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork orientation, with the ability to work effectively across distributed, cross‑functional teams.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated influence without direct authority, driving consensus on technical direction.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to personal and professional development, staying ahead of technological advancements.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the growth of its people. As a part‑time specialist, you will still have access to:

  • Mentorship programs with senior architects and industry veterans.
  • Technical conferences, workshops, and online courses (budget provided).
  • Opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects that directly impact millions of users.
  • Pathways to transition into full‑time roles, senior leadership positions, or specialized technical tracks.
  • Cross‑departmental rotations to broaden your expertise in product, data science, and operations.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

While the exact compensation package will be discussed during the interview process, candidates can expect a competitive hourly rate ranging from $25‑$30 per hour, reflective of experience and expertise. Additional benefits include:

  • Flexible remote work schedule – design your own hours around personal commitments.
  • Access to arenaflex’s global health and wellness programs, including virtual fitness classes and mental‑health resources.
  • Paid time off and holidays aligned with major US and international observances.
  • Technology stipend for home office setup (ergonomic chair, monitor, accessories).
  • Employee assistance program and professional development budget.
  • Opportunity to earn performance‑based bonuses tied to project milestones.
