Why This Role Matters

Data is the lifeblood of arenaflex. Every click, search, and transaction generates valuable insights that shape product strategy, enhance user experiences, and drive revenue growth. As a Data Scientist on our Data & Analytics team, you will turn massive, complex datasets into actionable intelligence that fuels the next generation of arenaflex products and services. This is a unique opportunity to blend data‑driven research with real‑world impact, working alongside product managers, engineers, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine‑learning models that optimize user engagement, recommendation systems, and ad‑targeting across the arenaflex Marketplace, arenaflex News, and arenaflex TV.
  • Lead end‑to‑end data pipelines: ingest clickstream data, clean and transform raw logs, and store curated datasets in scalable cloud warehouses.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business problems into analytical solutions, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps and strategic goals.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA), hypothesis testing, A/B experiments, and statistical modeling to uncover hidden patterns and drive data‑informed decisions.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations that communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior analysts and data engineers, fostering a culture of best practices, reproducibility, and rigorous documentation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging data‑science techniques, cloud technologies, and industry trends, proactively recommending innovative approaches to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance standards are upheld throughout all analytical workflows.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A Master’s or Ph.D. is a strong plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on data‑science experience, preferably within a fast‑moving technology or e‑commerce environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and SQL. Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient code for data manipulation and model development.
  • Cloud & Data Platforms: Experience with cloud data warehouses and analytics services (e.g., arenaflex Cloud, arenaflex Data Lake). Prior work with data‑visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Statistical Expertise: Strong foundation in regression, classification, clustering, time‑series analysis, and experimental design.
  • Communication: Ability to present complex analytical results clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, influencing product and business strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience with large‑scale clickstream data and real‑time analytics.
  • Familiarity with data‑engineering concepts, including ETL processes, data modeling, and data‑warehouse architecture.
  • Experience building production‑grade machine‑learning pipelines and monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of privacy‑preserving techniques (differential privacy, anonymization) and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Previous work in advertising technology, recommendation engines, or digital media analytics.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down ambiguous problems, formulate hypotheses, and test them rigorously.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in a highly cross‑functional, fast‑paced environment with product, engineering, and marketing teams.
  • Adaptability: Open to experimenting with new data‑science methods, tools, and frameworks.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Curiosity: Passion for uncovering insights that drive business impact and improve user experiences.
