The Opportunity: Customer Engineer Manager

We're seeking an exceptional Customer Engineer Manager to join our dynamic Cloud Solutions team. This is a remote opportunity offering competitive compensation ranging from $25-$35 per hour, with full-time employment benefits. Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Engineer Manager at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:

  • Team Leadership and Development: Collaborate with Sales and Customer Engineering leadership to determine appropriate staffing levels, develop work orders, and lead interview processes to build a high-performing team capable of meeting annual business objectives.
  • Capability Assessment and Improvement: Regularly evaluate the Customer Engineering team's go-to-market readiness, identify gaps in technical capabilities, and develop comprehensive plans to ensure the team is properly trained and equipped to support business goals.
  • Strategic Opportunity Management: Work with arenaflex's industry outreach team leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize engagement opportunities that align with our strategic growth initiatives.
  • Executive Client Relationship Management: Participate in strategic accounts as executive support, establishing strong relationships across client regions and serving as the primary technical liaison between arenaflex and our most valuable clients.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Account Executives, Customer Success teams, Product Managers, Customer Solutions, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues affecting pre- and post-sales customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement strategies that enhance the technical capabilities of our Customer Engineering teams while aligning with arenaflex's overall cloud solutions vision.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this Customer Engineer Manager role at arenaflex, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience through a combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical sales engineering leadership role within a SaaS or cloud environment, or in a client-facing technical leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Customer Design teams and managing design initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software sales cycles and customer engagement models.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM and sales automation tools, with a preference for candidates familiar with arenaflex's internal systems.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing technical teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, preference will be given to candidates with:

  • An MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience serving in the capacity of a pre-sales, field engineering manager, or as a client-facing field engineer.
  • Deep knowledge of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), public cloud architectures, and related technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with arenaflex Cloud products and services.
  • Experience working with clients in diverse industries including healthcare, financial services, retail, or manufacturing.
  • The ability to occasionally work across various time zones to accommodate global client requirements.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies from leading providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) or arenaflex-specific certifications.
