The Role: Front End Pharmacy Technician - Omnicare Division

We're seeking a dedicated Front End Pharmacy Technician to join our Omnicare division at arenaflex. This position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized closed-door pharmacy environment serving long-term care facilities, where you'll play a critical role in the medication dispensing process while providing exceptional customer service. Your work will directly impact the quality of care provided to vulnerable populations in our community.

Your Impact: Key Responsibilities

As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with arenaflex, you'll be an essential member of our pharmacy team, focusing on order entry tasks and collaborating closely with pharmacists to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and patient care. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Expertly managing order entry tasks with precision and efficiency
  • Triaging customer service requests by department, urgency, and required response
  • Calculating and verifying correct dosages based on prescriptions
  • Assisting in the timely review of narcotic prescriptions
  • Providing dispensing pharmacists with critical information regarding allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other flagged items by the computer system
  • Creating and maintaining accurate customer records in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with pharmacists and other team members to ensure seamless medication dispensing
  • Contributing to a supportive and innovative team environment that prioritizes patient safety

What You Bring: Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role at arenaflex, we're looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Current certification as a licensed, registered, or certified pharmacy technician as required by state law
  • One (1) or more years of experience working as a pharmacy technician in a professional setting
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy management systems
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all relevant regulations

Preferred Qualifications: Standing Out from the Crowd

While not required, candidates with the following additional skills and experience may have a competitive advantage:

  • Prior experience in the long-term care or senior living industry
  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) National Certification
  • Familiarity with closed-door pharmacy operations

  • Bilingual language skills (particularly Spanish)
  • Experience working with elderly or chronically ill populations
  • Knowledge of long-term care pharmacy regulations and best practices
