In this position, you will provide virtual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8 while helping them develop the confidence and determination that fuel sustained growth. You will analyze assessment data to identify skill deficits, modify instruction rapidly, and design interventions that address students at their current level. You will also facilitate brief motivation check-ins that keep students engaged, accountable, and confident in their progress. • Providing virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
• Analyzing assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify comprehension and fluency deficits and modify instruction rapidly
• Adapting instruction across varied reading levels, including support for students with dyslexia and associated reading challenges
• Monitoring student progress consistently and applying the data to shape future intervention plans
• Facilitating structured motivation check-ins that build confidence, persistence, and ownership of growth

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Conducting large lecture-style classes using a fixed curriculum
• Adhering to rigid intervention scripts without adjusting to student needs
• Serving as a passive monitor for software-based learning programs
• Relying on superficial incentives instead of cultivating authentic student motivation and confidence

Reading Specialist Key Responsibilities Produce measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3–8 through individualized virtual intervention and motivation support that fosters lasting confidence. Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field
• Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
• Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
• At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
• Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
• Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
• Authorized to work in the United States

Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $30 USD/hour, which equates to $60,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
