HaRT Data and Compliance Administrator

British Transport Police (BTP) is the national police force for the rail network throughout Great Britain. The HaRT Data and Compliance Administrator will manage and maintain databases, ensuring data accuracy and compliance to support public protection and effective decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining HaRT databases and records, ensuring highly sensitive information is handled accurately, securely and in line with data protection requirements
  • Ensuring data quality and compliance, inputting and quality‑assuring information across systems such as Niche and ControlWorks, correcting inaccuracies and bridging data gaps
  • Producing timely reports and information, compiling dashboards, reports and proformas to support senior leadership, partners and operational decision‑making
  • Supporting effective communication and collaboration, monitoring shared mailboxes, maintaining distribution lists, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, and providing additional data and research support to enhance team resilience

Skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel or a similar database system, demonstrated through work or study
  • Experience in research or data administration, gained through work or education
  • Practical experience using Excel to input, organise and manage data
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, liaising effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Strong organisational, administrative and data‑management skills, with the ability to work accurately and methodically under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build effective working relationships
  • High level of attention to detail, maintaining accuracy in routine and repetitive tasks
  • Understanding of Data Protection principles and legislation
  • Awareness of Freedom of Information principles
