Energy Engineer
Trane Technologies is a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable, and efficient climate solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation. They are seeking an Energy Engineer to participate in energy-saving construction projects, perform building audits, and analyze energy conservation measures to optimize building performance.
Responsibilities
- Participates as team member of a project development team for the development of energy saving construction projects
- Perform building surveys and audits to identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) for architectural, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities
- Analyze and document existing building operation
- Complete utility analysis by quantifying and benchmarking a building’s energy use
- Review and understand utility rate tariffs
- Quantify the energy savings for each ECM via a building simulation / energy model or by utilizing spreadsheet calculations
- Work with local utility companies to secure rebates and incentives for our customers
- Oversee the measurement and verification of the project’s ECMs
- Review building automation control systems to validate system performance and provide recommendations for optimization
- Provide key technical support in pursuit of Trane business, including participation on strategic job acquisition teams
- Assist and support all efforts of acquisition and customer satisfaction
- Some travel required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology discipline
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products and office equipment required
- Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Ability to clearly communicate and develop relationships with clients and internal team is required

- Experience collecting data, analyzing and presenting data in a clear and accurate manor
