Senior Java Engineer(with Python experience)

This is the job We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer (with Python experience) to join a long-term project in the banking domain, working on high-value, business-critical payment functionalities. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of robust and scalable backend services using modern Java and Spring Boot, while also promoting clean architecture, testing best practices, and team collaboration This is you Tech Stack: Java, Spring, MySQL, AWS, Docker, Helm, Terraform. Python is also a nice to have since there are occasional scripts to write/maintain. The team heavily relies on AI agents (mainly Cursor). Nice-to-have skills: Experience with reactive programming (e.g., Project Reactor, WebFlux) Hands-on knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL technologies Deeper experience with event-driven systems and message brokers This is your role Design and build robust backend components using Java and Spring Boot Conduct structured, constructive code reviews with a focus on quality and system impact Collaborate with team members to establish and uphold development standards Take end-to-end ownership of feature delivery and system design Actively manage and reduce technical debt within your team Keep documentation up to date and accessible Participate in hiring by leading technical interviews and reviewing coding challenges Foster a culture of quality, security, and improvement What awaits you at Avenga?
