Technical Sales Engineer Ideally based in the Grand Est region Fisher Scientific is looking for its future Technical Sales Engineer to support customers in the Academic and Industrial segments across the Grand Est region of France. Travel frequency: on average, 1 to 2 nights away from home per week. OBJECTIVES Achieve sales and profitability targets within the assigned market segment and geographic territory. JOB SUMMARY The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for selling products and services to major Academic and Industrial customers within the region. They maintain strong customer relationships, identify and develop growth opportunities, and drive market penetration by achieving established targets, particularly in terms of sales and profitability. KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-EXHAUSTIVE)
- Achieve sales targets within the assigned territory,
- Sell products specific to the market segment through close collaboration with our strategic suppliers and active promotion of our portfolio and services,
- Ensure a clear understanding of customer challenges and effectively communicate the Thermo Fisher Scientific Group’s value proposition to grow market share,
- Implement our digital strategy by leveraging all internal tools and encouraging customers to use the resources available to them, such as our e-commerce website,
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical territory plans to maximize market penetration and achieve objectives,
- Actively engage with customers through regular, high-quality interactions with users, buyers, and other decision-makers or influencers,
- Implement pricing policies to optimize sales volumes and profitability,
- Utilize internal resources to maximize customer-facing time,
- Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the Thermo Fisher Scientific Group. Whenever possible, seek support from our manufacturing partners to strengthen technical expertise and win business opportunities,
- Manage, implement, and develop profitable annual contracts in collaboration with European Account Managers.
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in applied or fundamental sciences,
- Proven sales experience across various research and development industries,
- Ability to demonstrate agility within a matrix organization,
- Excellent communication skills in French. English proficiency is essential for working within a European organization,
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and delegate when necessary,
- Valid Category B driver’s license.
