Overview

Instacart’s Strategic Finance team partners across the company to drive clarity, allocate resources, and accelerate growth. We are hiring a Manager, International Finance to lead financial strategy and decision support for international expansion as an individual contributor with outsized scope and visibility. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, Business Development/Sales, Market Strategy & Planning, and Legal to evaluate new markets, shape country-level P&Ls, and guide investments that scale responsibly. You’ll build driver-based models, pressure test go-to-market assumptions, and help leadership understand trade-offs in a fast-moving, highly cross-functional environment. About the Job Own financial strategy and modeling for international expansion, including market sizing, unit economics, multi-currency P&L design, scenario analyses, and sensitivity testing. Partner with Business Development/Sales, Market Strategy & Planning, Legal, Accounting, and Tax to evaluate market-entry pathways, commercial structures, and regulatory considerations; translate insights into clear recommendations. Lead planning and forecasting for international initiatives (annual plan, quarterly updates, and monthly outlooks), tracking KPIs and performance to drive accountability against targets. Build and automate reporting that elevates signal over noise for leadership, including dashboards, cohort views, and variance analyses that tie back to the drivers of the business. Develop investment cases (pricing, partnerships, resourcing) and author decision memos that articulate financial impact, risk, and mitigations—enabling fast, high-quality decisions. Stand up finance readiness for new market launches (processes, controls, FX considerations, data flows, and close/reporting alignment) in partnership with Accounting and Systems teams. About You Minimum Qualifications 6+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting with direct exposure to international markets or multi-entity, multi-currency P&L management. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including building driver-based P&Ls, three-statement models, and scenario/sensitivity analyses. Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders through clear, data-driven recommendations. Hands-on experience owning planning and forecasting cycles and producing executive-ready reporting and narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent advanced education/credential. Proficiency in SQL and BI tools (for example: Looker, Tableau) to self-serve data and build repeatable reporting. Experience in marketplace, retail, grocery, consumer tech, logistics, or e-commerce business models. Working knowledge of FX, transfer pricing, local compliance, and tax considerations for international operations. Experience with financial systems and planning tools (for example: NetSuite, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning). #LI-Remote Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work.
