Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the management of our regular accounting functions and supporting the business activities of our partners and carriers. Significant areas of responsibility include but not limited to involvement in end-of-month financial statement preparation, review of accounts payables and receivables, completion of general ledger schedules, and analyzing financial/operational reports related to the business activities of our partners. General Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of financial statements Compile bank reconciliations and account schedules Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable Support month-end and year-end close process Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule Assist with tax audits and tax returns Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance Analyze and report on component material, labor, and overhead costs to enable the management team to improve overall efficiency, quality, and profitability Establish effective communication lines with other departments Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA and/or MBA preferred 2+ years of experience in construction accounting preferred Thorough knowledge of basic accounting concepts In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Experience in NetSuite or Sage preferred Excellent organizational and time management skills Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. Advanced MS excel skills Ability to problem-solve and use critical thinking Ability to handle conflict in a professional and courteous manner Excellent verbal, electronic, and written communication, and customer service skills Must be flexible and adapt to most any situation Ability to utilize technology devices, software and application, previous experience with Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer skills required Reliable high speed home broadband internet connection with minimum 25 meg download and 10 meg upload speeds and ability to connect to home internet via ethernet cord is required if working remotely Ability to travel, less than 10% Accuserve’s Human Centric Value Proposition: Accuserve is built on a foundation of community, fostering valuable connections, and creating an innovative approach to help you navigate the insurance landscape.
