SAP PS/PPM Functional Consultant

We are seeking a seasoned SAP PS/PPM Functional Consultant to join our enterprise SAP transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading large-scale SAP implementations in the Construction, Energy, or Utility industry, with deep expertise in SAP Project Systems (PS) and Portfolio & Project Management (PPM). Job Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end capital portfolio and project lifecycles—from portfolio management (buckets, items), project initiation, project cost estimate, project budget, project execution (cost, schedule, risk), project WBS settlement, and asset capitalization
  • Configure SAP PPM modules such as Project Management, Portfolio Management, and Financial Planning
  • Customize relevant capital projects PPM / PS RICEFW objects (reports, interface, conversion, enhancement, forms, workflows), approval processes, and reporting structures
  • Integrate SAP PPM with other SAP modules like PS, FI/CO, HR, and S/4HANA
  • Integrate PPM and SAP BTP Fiori Applications and/or Integration Suites (IS)
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Identify and resolve functional issues during testing phases
  • Prepare detailed level plans for the PPM functional area and work with the project team to develop and finalize the overall project plan

Core Expertise:

  • SAP Project Systems (PS), Portfolio & Project Management (PPM), Commercial Project Management (CPM), and Asset Accounting, with strong cross-module integration across Master Data, Procurement (services or equipment), and Asset Management.
  • SAP Security Design & Governance:
  • Experience in designing role-based access controls (RBAC) and authorization concepts aligned with SOX compliance and industry regulations.
  • Define and manage user roles, profiles, and authorizations across SAP S/4HANA and integrated systems.
  • Collaborate with security and audit teams to ensure segregation of duties (SoD) and risk mitigation across SAP modules.
  • Support security testing, remediation, and compliance reporting during project lifecycles.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret operational and financial data, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues, guide technical teams, and propose innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools for agile program delivery and backlog management.
