You will be at the forefront of translating complex genomic data into actionable biological insights, driving innovation and discovery. The ideal candidate will have a deep scientific curiosity, a strong publication record, and extensive experience in designing and executing complex bioinformatics analyses. Responsibilities: Lead independent research projects in genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and related fields. Design, develop, and implement novel bioinformatics pipelines and algorithms for analyzing large-scale omics datasets. Collaborate with experimental biologists, clinicians, and other scientists to define research questions and experimental designs. Interpret and present complex genomic and bioinformatics findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences. Mentor and guide junior scientists and bioinformaticians, fostering a collaborative research environment. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in genomic technologies, sequencing platforms, and bioinformatics methodologies. Contribute to grant writing and secure external funding for research initiatives. Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences. Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and proper documentation of all research activities. Contribute to strategic planning and the overall scientific direction of the research division. Develop and maintain expertise in relevant computational tools, programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and statistical methods. Proactively identify new research opportunities and innovative approaches to address pressing scientific challenges. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 10 years of post-doctoral research experience in a relevant scientific environment, demonstrating a track record of significant research accomplishments. Extensive experience in analyzing large-scale genomic datasets (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq) using established and novel bioinformatics tools and pipelines. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, and experience with command-line scripting in a Linux/Unix environment. Strong understanding of statistical principles and their application in biological data analysis. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing novel algorithms or computational methods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to publish in high-impact journals and present complex data effectively. Experience in mentoring junior researchers and leading research projects. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for bioinformatics analyses is desirable. A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of relevant biological pathways, disease mechanisms, or therapeutic areas is a plus.
