Map Artist (Contract)

Curious Curls is looking for a map artist for an upcoming book title. This map will be featured inside one of our titles on a single page. The position is a paid contract with a quick turnaround goal of mid-May to the end of May. Reference materials will be provided. While the pay may not be the largest (listed on website), it is a perfect opportunity for an up-and-coming artist to get a quick experience under his or her belt!

Curious Curls Publishing is a small and relatively new literary press. Our goal is to help both already-grounded and newly emerging writers share their books with the world. We place focus on titles that evoke creativity and curiosity, whether in form or a character who expresses such qualities. We publish multiple titles a year, with a goal of expanding our knowledge and ability to market amazing books.

• *Responsibilities
• Able to meet virutally (via Zoom, etc.) to discuss project details.
• Ability to communicate in case of any questions or conflicts.
• Ability to handle criticism and suggestions.
• Ability to work with source materials and make creative decisions that fall within desired vision.
• Qualifications
• Familiarity with digital art, file formatting, working with digital measurements, etc.
• Can work under a tighter deadline, with goal of completion by Mid-May or the end of May.
• We encourage new artists and undergraduate students to apply. We are a small press with a limited budget, so we want to make sure our artist gets the most out of the experience.
